In het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heyusa.com\/nl\/redwood-national-park\/\">Redwood National Park<\/a> vind je een aantal van de grootste bomen van Amerika. De sequoia&#8217;s die in het park staan zijn meer dan 100 meter hoog en soms wel tussen de 500-700 jaar oud. Het zijn overigens andere sequoia&#8217;s dan in het Sequoia National Park. Het Redwoods National Park bestaat uit drie verschillende state parks die in 1994 zijn samengevoegd. Wat je er kunt doen? Beide routes hebben hun voor- en nadelen. Wanneer je van noord naar zuid rijdt, heb je de zee aan de goede kant van de weg en kun je makkelijker stoppen bij verschillende uitkijkpunten. Een nadeel is echter dat je af en toe langs steile afgronden rijdt, als chauffeur moet je geen hoogtevrees hebben. Start je in het zuiden, dan is het vaak minder druk op de weg.<\/p>\n<p>Ons advies: Geen last van hoogtevrees? Hier zie je nog het stukje historie dat in veel steden inmiddels verloren gegaan is. In het oude trein-stadje staan nog gebouwen uit de 19e eeuw zoals het Carson Mansion, maar je vindt er ook de kleinste bar met licentie van Californi\u00eb. Rondom Eureka vind je vele mogelijkheden om de natuur in te gaan. San Francisco is een fijne stad om een paar dagen te verblijven. De stad op de heuvels voelt ietwat Europees aan en is vaak gehuld in de mist die de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heyusa.com\/nl\/golden-gate-bridge-san-francisco\/\">Golden Gate Bridge<\/a> soms doet verdwijnen. De auto kun je hier beter laten staan. De stad kun je lopend, per fiets of met de Cable Car verkennen.
