De inzittenden zijn de producenten van <em>Dallas<\/em>, de televisieserie die tussen 1978 en 1991 tot \u00e9\u00e9n van de grootste kaskrakers van Amerika kon worden gerekend. De producenten waren op zoek naar een geschikte locatie voor de buitenopnames. De kinderen van Duncan hadden dan immers schoolvakantie en konden niet van hun huiswerk worden afgeleid. In de jaren die daarop volgden, zal de eigenaar zich nog wel eens achter de oren hebben gekrabd. Want nadat Dallas begon en de populariteit van de serie steeds grotere vormen aannam, wilde iedereen het huis met eigen ogen zien. De toeristenaanloop was nauwelijks te verwerken. Het is wel goed om rekening te houden met de afstand. De ranch ligt op bijna drie kwartier rijden buiten het centrum van Dallas, in het plaatsje Parker. Daarnaast lijkt het in de serie te gaan om een enorme lap grond en een gigantische ranch. De oprit naar het huis vanaf de weg lijkt in de serie een eindeloos stuk, maar bedraagt in werkelijkheid nog geen tweehonderd meter. De groothoeklens van de cameramannen deed ook hier wonderen. Of het nu JR, Bobby of Pam was die een duik in het verkoelende water nam, allemaal kregen ze een touw om hun middel. Na drie meter zwemmen werden ze teruggetrokken om de illusie te wekken dat het zwembad twee keer zo groot is. De zwembadsc\u00e8nes stonden niet \u00e9\u00e9n, twee, drie op band. Vervolgens worden bezoekers door een gang \u2013 met allerlei rekwisieten uit de serie \u2013 naar de achterkant van het gebouw geleid om vervolgens door een tractor met aangekoppelde zitplekken bij het huis afgezet.
