Wil je iets meer waar voor je geld, dan kun je je kamer update geven met een uitzicht over The Rim. De Thunderbird Lodges focussen zich iets meer op families die de Grand Canyon bezoeken. Maar ook liefhebbers van wandelen zitten hier goed. De kamers zijn prima om te verblijven en je hoeft niet per se naar Grand Canyon Village om te eten. Tussen de dennenbomen staat het complex met 280 kamers. Het hotel is opgedeeld in Maswik North en Maswik South. Maswik North is het luxere gedeelte met een eigen patio en uitzicht over de bossen. Terwijl Maswik South iets goedkoper is om te verblijven, maar dan heb je dus geen mooi uitzicht. Overigens hoef je niet de deur uit om te dineren of een drankje te doen.
