De bijzondere kleuren in de vallei geven Zabriskie Point net even wat extra&#8217;s, zeker in de vroege ochtend of late namiddag. Je kunt vanaf Zabriskie Point een wandeling maken om zelf tussen de bergkammen te staan. Echter is het niet zonder gevaar. Hier vind je roze, aqua en paarse heuvels die ontstaan zijn door de oxidatie van metalen in de bodem. Vanaf de parkeerplaats bij Artists Palette is het de moeite waard om een kleine wandeling te maken tussen de prachtig gekleurde rotsen. Deze vind je vlak bij de parkeerplaats van het dorp (nog een klein stukje rijden vanaf hier). Een andere aanrader is de Salt Creek Interpretive Trail. Een korte gemakkelijke wandeling over een loopbrug langs de Salt Creek. Tussen november en mei stroomt hier water en kun je Pupfish zien zwemmen.
